Japanese fishing is easy to admire from a distance. Understanding it is harder. Inn River exists to make that gap smaller.
The publication focuses on Japanese fishing culture, Ajing, Light Game and the tackle systems built around them — always with European anglers in mind. We are interested in what happens when Japanese ideas meet European water: what transfers, what needs adapting and what is simply different.
The approach is deliberately practical. Rods are not judged only by specifications. Lures are not interesting simply because they are Japanese. And a brand is not automatically good because it has a following in Japan. The question is always: what does this actually change for the angler?
Editorial independence
Inn River is independent. It does not sell tackle, does not represent manufacturers or distributors, and does not present paid placements as editorial recommendations. Where a European retailer is named on a brand page, that is an editorial view of where a range can sensibly be found — never a statement of official or authorised retailer status, and never a commercial arrangement.
Everything published here reflects a personal reading of the European market. That market changes constantly, and so does what is known about it; pages are revised as ranges, availability and understanding evolve.
